| Короткий огляд (реферат): | У статті висвітлюється мистецький і життєвий шлях видатної піаністки, композиторки, педагогині, диригентки і громадської діячки – Оксани Тарнавської у контексті розвитку музичної культури української діаспори Австралії. Розкривається її піаністична і педагогічна діяльність як організаторки приватної музичної школи в Мельбурні. Значної уваги надається різним аспектам праці О. Тарнавської зі створеним нею Молодечим Катедральним Хором у Мельбурні: концертному, освітньому, виховному та просвітницькому. Підкреслюються і висвітлюються основні жанри творчості композиторки, зокрема фортепіанної, особливості її педагогічної та просвітницької діяльності в молодіжній патріотичній організації “Пласт”. |
| Опис: | The article to highlighting the pianistic, pedagogical, conducting, and composing heritage of the famous representative of the Ukrainian diaspora in Australia – Oksana Tarnavska (1926–2020) is dedicated. The artist was born in Lviv in an intelligent family, in which they cared about the good education of their children, because from the age of five, Oksana began to learn to play the piano, which she did not part with throughout her life. Oksana Tarnavska received her musical education at the branch of the Mykola Lysenko Higher Music Institute in Sambor in the piano class of Ivanna Voloshyn. Having left for Australia in 1948, she continued her studies with teacher A. Meggeri and obtained a diploma of the Australian Music Association. In 1952, after moving to Melbourne, she received a higher musical education studying at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Melbourne. At the final course of study, she received recognition for the piano composition “Poppies bloomed under the fords”, which she wrote under the impression of the choral work of the same name by Fr. Severyn Saprun – the organizer of the musical life of Drohobychyna in the 1920s and 30s. The pedagogical activity of O. Tarnavska in the field of founding her own private music school and the Youth Cathedral Choir in Melbourne at the Cathedral Brotherhood of the Holy Supreme Apostles Peter and Paul is highlighted. The youth team worked in various areas – concert, educational, educational and enlightening. The goal of creating a youth choir was the leaderʼs desire to unite children and young people to familiarize themselves with and study Ukrainian church-religious and secular music and to prepare young people for future artistic activities for the development of Ukrainian musical art and choral art in particular. O. Tarnavska actively worked in the “Plast” organization, holding leading positions. In 1970, she arranged and published the stratum song “V mandry”, collaborated with the stratum magazine “Hotuis!” for which she made music. O. Tarnavskaʼs creative legacy includes compositions of various genres: choral and vocal (solo) works based on poems by Ukrainian poets, many songs for children and youth, folk songs, arrangements and arrangements of folk songs for solo performance and various choir compositions. The article analyzes the artistʼs piano works: “Ukrainian Suite”, “Homіn of Ukraine.Musical essay on folk motifs”, “Autumn Song”, “Nocturne. Evening meditation”, “Prelude. Memory”, “Heroic Elegy”. O. Tarnavskaʼs piano compositions are written with a good professional musical taste; they are deep in content, based on folklore sources and are marked by skillful compositional technique. |
