До питання функціонування відділів УПА на Чернівеччині (1944 - 1945)

Abstract

In the article, on the basis of unknown and little-known documentary materials, the question of the activities of the UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army) squads in Chernivtsi oblast (1944 – 1945) is clarified. 1944 witnessed the most OUN and UPA operations on the largest scale in Bukovyna against all divisions of the Soviet repressive bodies and the Red Army. It was just at that time that the Ukrainian insurgents attempted to apply offensive tactics against the Soviet repressive bodies. As is now found out, the insurgent squads increased in number, especially, during the time of crossing of the battle-front. It was the old and well trained military departments that became the basis for the formation and growth of the insurgent squads.
